La Moussière Church
Description
Unusually, Saint Jean d’Aulps has two parish churches, one opposite the town hall and another -- Saint Jean the Baptist -- on the opposite side of the river Dranse.
This second church is more commonly known as “Moussière” church, after the hamlet where it was built at the end of the 19th century in the Gothic style. This magnificent church was recently restored by the hamlet’s residents. Those interested in pushing open its vast doors will find a pretty statue of Saint Guerin, the patron saint of Aulps Valley. This fine place of worship is also the venue for many summer events, playing host to numerous concerts.
