Hiking: Les Chalets de Lens

A beautiful hike starting at Lake Montriond, which winds its way up through the forest before reaching the mountain pastures and the Chalets de Lens. A varied route offering beautiful views of the lake and the Chablais mountains.

The route begins on the shores of Lake Montriond before gradually ascending along a forest trail. The climb, which is sometimes steep, alternates between wooded sections and more open stretches until it reaches the alpine pastures.

After crossing the pastures, the trail leads to the Chalets de Lens, a charming hamlet consisting of several alpine chalets. Along the way, the Pointe de Nantaux towers over the surrounding area, and Lake Montriond gradually comes into view below, surrounded by cliffs. The scenery also offers beautiful views of the Chablais peaks and, in the distance, Avoriaz.

Start at the Lake Montriond parking lot.

1/ Walk up the road, then turn left onto the trail that climbs after the bus stop.
At the “Le Clou” sign, follow the signs for Les Chalets de Lens.

2/ Further on, at the intersection, turn right, following the trail markers (yellow arrow on a green background).

3/ Further along the hike: turn left onto the steeply sloping trail. Follow the direction of the yellow arrow on a green background.

4/ At Les Vélas, continue straight ahead. The climb remains steep along a forest trail. Then it levels off and descends slightly as you exit the forest. The climb then becomes fairly steep again.

5/ You’ll arrive at a mountain pasture. Turn right and follow the trail markers (yellow arrow on a green background). Cross the pasture and go around the herd of cows if necessary.
This will take you to the Chalets de Lens.
