Mount Caly from the Col de l'Encrenaz

A beautiful hike starting from the Col de l'Encrenaz, with the most wonderful reward at the end: an unobstructed view of Mont Blanc.

The hike up Mont Caly follows a gentle, pleasant ascent along a wide forest trail. At the top, a superb view of the Mont Blanc range awaits you. You can also admire numerous peaks in the Chablais and Aravis ranges.

Start at the Col de l'Encrenaz parking lot.

1/ From the Col de l'Encrenaz parking lot, follow the sign toward Mont Caly. The trail climbs toward the forest.

2/ On the forest trail, continue to follow the signs toward Mont Caly. You’ll pass signs for Derrière Chéry, Les Quenes, and Les Chars.

3/ The trail begins to open up as you exit the forest. A little further on at the intersection, turn right (follow the yellow arrow on a green background).

4/ At Mont Caly, a short distance away, a small trail climbs up behind the sign to reach the cross.
