Isabelle Magnin Professional Painter

I am a professional painter, and have been painting since the age of 7. I have a scientific career in imaging, which also explains my skills in digital image processing and manipulation.

I welcome you by appointment every day at my studio in La Moussière, where I practice drawing (pencil, charcoal) and painting with oil and/or acrylic on canvas. I’ll share my studio secrets with you: how to stretch a canvas on a keyed stretcher, which pigments to use for oil painting, how to paint water droplets…
My favorite subjects are trees and living creatures, which I paint from life in a mostly figurative style.
I also create imaginary beings that help me convey the complexity of living creatures, their ambivalence, and their emotions. Depending on the series, my work falls more into the realm of contemporary art or modern art.

Individual or group studio tours by appointment year-round.
Studio tours without an appointment between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. during Open House days (late November or early December and late July)
Sale of original oil paintings on canvas
Sale of limited-edition prints on Plexiglass, numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity

In Paris:

• October 28 through November 1, at the Salon d’Automne on Place de la Concorde, where I have been selected for the Chromatics section. Private opening by invitation only on October 27.
