Isabelle Magnin Professional Painter

I am a professional painter, and have been painting since the age of 7. I have a scientific career in imaging, which also explains my skills in digital image processing and manipulation.

I welcome you by appointment every day to my studio in La Moussière, where I practice drawing (pencil, charcoal) and oil and/or acrylic painting on canvas. I'll let you in on my studio secrets: how to stretch a stretcher with keys, which pigments to use for oil painting, how to paint water droplets...
My favorite subjects are trees and living creatures, which I paint on the spot in a rather figurative style.
I also create imaginary beings that help me transcribe the complexity of living beings, their ambivalence and emotions. Depending on the series, my work may be more contemporary or modern.
